Bonds of Fire and Ice is a short story, written by Jay Moldenhauer-Salazar. It is about the Brothers Yamazaki and the parts they played in the Kami War, as told years later by Seitaro Yamazaki (one of the brothers) to his great-niece, Mariko. It begins and ends in this way, but the middle of the story take place during the Kami War, as the brothers accidentally kill their father and subsequently defend their village. In the end, the reader learns that the brothers now refuse to talk to each other.
